Every person must have a meaningful doll when they were kid, but this doll here, in this museum, has a significant meaning for a man.
Mr. Reid wakes up and makes himself a coffee. He goes to the mailbox outside his house, see if he gets any deliveries. He doesn’t expect that he will get anything, Mr. Reid is just doing what he used to do — He always helped his son to check if he got anything. But today is a little bit tricky. There is a box lying in the mailbox. Mr. Reid stares at that box and tries to recall if he bought anything online recently. He picks up that box and walks back home. Mr. Reid asks his wife:
“Hey… Did you buy anything online recently? I’m so sure that I didn’t.”
“Nope, I did not either.” asked Mrs. Reid
“Well…That’s strange” Mr. Reid heads to kitchen directly, and he finds a scissors to open it. When he sees what is lying in the box; he feels more weird. It’s a teddy bear and a letter. He suddenly realizes that it’s from one of recipient who bring back to alive because the organ his son donated. It reminds Mr. Reid, his son, who was killed in a car crash in 2019. Mr. Reid finds a button on the arms of this teddy bear. He presses the button, and suddenly there is a heartbeat sound come out from that teddy bear. He realizes that the heartbeat is absolutely from his son’s and that recipient decides to record that sound and put that into a teddy bear as a gift for Mr. Reid. He closes his eyes and listens that sound very carefully; he’s eyes like two unclosed faucets. He embraces that teddy bear tightly, just like he is embracing his son.
Nowadays, more and more people need a new organ to live a healthy life; and there are also more and more people who decide to donate their organs if they die young. People always say I couldn’t take anything away if I die, but I can left something. For those donors, they choose another way to continue their lives.
“It presents the lights of life has never gone out, and it also offers the transmission of the spirit of great love.”
